Phase 1: Public Outreach and Input

Achieving Vision Zero Starts With You

In Jersey City, Vision Zero will focus on community outreach, and will seek out residents, neighborhood leaders, and community groups across the city for their input and expertise on traffic safety in their own communities. There is no single solution to solve traffic safety in Jersey City, and the Vision Zero Task Force is committed to seeking solutions from a diverse group of people representing all walks of life in our community.

The resulting Vision Zero Action plan will serve as a blueprint for reaching our traffic safety goals, and ensuring that safe, comfortable transportation on Jersey City streets is a right for everyone who moves to and through our community.

Our interactive survey includes two parts: a survey for residents, visitors, and commuters, and an interactive map.

The survey gathers information about you, how you travel, and your experiences traveling on Jersey City streets. We'll use this data to inform the actions and strategies we recommend as part of the Action Plan to get to Zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2026.

The interactive map takes this a step further, allowing you to place a pin indicating the experience you have as you travel through your community on the precise location where you experience an issue. With broad community input, this map will help us identify common issues, problematic intersections, and prioritize projects that will make the greatest difference.
